PAW PATROL CAMP (October Only)

As seen on Nickelodeon and led by 10-year-old Ryder, the plucky pups of Paw Patrol are rescue dogs in training.  Each pup is inspired by a real-world job like fire fighter, police officer, medic, etc.  They work together on missions to help protect their community.  This camp will use music, dance, theatre, and art to enhance the theme.  And some surprise visits from real-life, first responders may be in the works.

TEAM UMIZOOMI CAMP PLUS DANCE (SPRING BREAK CAMP)
AGES: 3 - 5 (must be potty trained)
INSTRUCTORS: Joice Henry & Grace Wiens
Join us the week of Spring Break for an exciting theatre/dance camp where the students will spend 45 minutes engaging in stories, crafts and games based on the popular Nickelodeon series Team Umizoomi about a group of mighty math superheroes who introduce young viewers to the concepts of counting, measurement, shapes and patterns and 45 minutes of dance, including tap and ballet.

FAIRY TALE THEATRE & DANCE COMBO
AGES: 4-5
INSTRUCTOR:  Gabrielle Wiens & Grace Wiens
45 minutes of drama, music, poetry, and movement all based on a storybook theme for the day followed by 45 minutes of pre-ballet & tap. This class follows the year round school schedule of Sept.-May.

CREATIVE DRAMATICS/AROUND THE WORLD
 AGES: 6-8
 DIRECTOR: Brenda Lawton
Come on a grand tour of the globe! We will visit at least one country on each of the seven continents. We will learn about the culture and customs of the countries we visit through story dramatization and art. The students will create a passport journal of their travels.

A GINGERBREAD CHRISTMAS
AGES:7-9
DIRECTOR: Denise Jackson-Simon
Mmm, the smell of gingerbread baking at Christmas time brings back sweet holiday memories, except when you’re the Gingerbread Cookies and Santa’s on his way for a midnight snack! Join the antics of the Christmas toys and the Gingerbread Cookies in their Merry Christmas Eve celebration.
This class will perform before our production of THE GINGERBREAD MAN, A Once Upon A Time Production, on Friday evening, Dec. 1 and Saturday lunch, Dec. 2. (There will be a special performance for parents on Sat., Dec. 2 at 10:00 a.m.)

THE GRANNY AWARDS

Tonight’s the night we’ve all been waiting for! Yes, Granny, who has retired from show business, will be honoring all of our favorite fairy tale characters! Who will win Best Female and Male Vocalist? Best Dramatic Scene? Best Choreography? And the coveted Best Villain Award? And don’t forget to keep an eye on that nasty Big Bad Wolf as he tries to steal the treasured Granny Award. Features six musical numbers and two commercials. This show will be performed at WCT&DC, 201 Lulu, on the last night of class.

BASIC ACTING
AGES: 9-12
INSTRUCTOR:  Katie Harmon
An introduction to basic skills in acting such as vocal projection, stage movement, and character development.  There will be an informance on the final day of class.

GALLERY ALIVE
AGES: 9-12
DIRECTOR: Brenda Lawton 
During half of the class, students will learn the principles of Basic Acting and create scenes based on works of art. The students will also create the sets, props, and costumes for their scenes which will be shared in a Living Gallery at the end of the nine weeks. The other half of the class will be spent with an art teacher from Mark Arts where students will study the historical importance of the works of art around which their scenes are being created. Students will also create their own art each week.
