FAIRY TALE THEATRE & DANCE COMBO

45 minutes of drama, music, poetry, and movement all based on a storybook theme for the day followed by 45 minutes of pre-ballet & tap. This class follows the year round dance schedule of Sept.-May. For dance attire requirements, please see dress code on page 13.

CREATIVE DRAMATICS THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF DRAMA (Fall Only)
AGES: 6-8

This class will use a mixture of pantomime, po-etry, story dramatization, singing, and movement to stimulate creativity and self-expression. Students will learn about the building blocks of drama: Who, What, Where, Why, conflict and Resolution as we dramatize fun stories and construct a strong founda-tion of theatre skills in preparation for Basic Acting.

CREATIVE DRAMATICS THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS (Winter Only)
AGES: 6-8

This class will use a mixture of pantomime, poetry, story dramati¬zation, singing, and movement to stimulate creativity and self-expression. Each class will be centered around a winter holiday for example, the Chinese New Year, Ground Hog Day, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day. Stu-dents will learn about traditions and dramatize stories about these holidays as they learn theatre skills in preparation for Basic Acting.

BASIC ACTING
AGES: 9-12

HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD (A Musical) (Fall Only)
AGES: 9-12

Sept. 12 – Nov. 19

This class will learn scenes, songs & dances from HOW TO EAT LIKE A CHILD, a fun musical about the joys and trials of being a kid. Students will have an informal performance on the last day of class. This class will not meet on Wednesday, Oct. 10 or 31 and due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, the final class; performance will be on Monday, Nov. 19.

COST: $150.00 per session

A BARNYARD MOOSICAL (A Musical) (Winter Only)
AGES: 6-9
INSTRUCTOR: Tiffanie Cain
Wednesday 5:30 – 7:30 Jan. 9 – Mar. 6

In this hilarious and imaginative mini-musical, we meet a unique and talented group of animals living at this unusual farm. Between the gourmet goats that refuse to eat garbage, a chorus line of hoofing cows, neatnik pigs and funky dancing chickens, the musical will be sure to tickle the imagination and funny bone of performers and audiences alike. The final performance for this class will be Mar. 6.

ONE ACT (A non-Musical) (Fall Only)
AGES: 9-13

This will be a fun class where students will learn a one-act play, help costume and prop it and perform it during the final class.

ONE ACT CAMP (A non-Musical)
AGES: 12 & up

Come join us over spring break. This will be a fun week where teens learn a one-act play, help costume and prop it and perform it during the final class.

FROM PAGE TO STAGE (Fall Only)
AGES: 9-12

There will be no class on Nov. 1.Students will choose a book and create a theatrical production based on the story. Students will be involved in creating the set and costumes and will perform their production for family and friends during the final class on Thursday, Nov. 15. (There will be a technical work day for the students on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9:30-11:30 to work on sets, props and costumes.)

MUSIC MAKERS (Wizard of Oz & Christmas Theme for Fall Only)
AGES: 6-12

Sept. 18 – Dec. 14 (Fall Session) (with touring performances TBA)
Jan. 15 – Apr. 16 (Winter Session)(with touring performances TBA)
This class will combine music, choreography & fun themes into a Music Theatre experience that will keep your kids singing & moving long after the class ends. This class will be preparing during the fall for a special performance in the lobby of CII prior to the Symphony performance on Saturday night, Decem-ber 8th. The symphony will be playing live music to the classic Wizard of Oz movie that will be shown. Students in Music Makers who perform that night will be offered tickets to the event at a discounted rate. During the fall session students will also spend part of their class time on scene & character study from the Wizard of Oz.This class is a great opportunity to develop talents, build confidence & make new friends along the way. This class will perform around the city at care homes during the holiday season and again in the spring. Every attempt is made to keep bookings on Tuesday nights during regular class times however, that is not always possible. Enrollment for both semesters is strongly encouraged.

GALLERY ALIVE! (Winter Only)
AGES: 9-12
INSTRUCTORS:Brenda Lawton & Mo Barnhart
Saturday 9:30 – 11:30 Jan. 12 - Mar. 9

During half of the class, students will learn the principles of Basic Acting and create scenes based on works of art. The students will also create the sets, props, and costumes for their scenes which will be shared in a live gallery at the end of the nine weeks. The other half of the class will be spent with an art teacher where students will study the historical importance of the works of art around which their scenes are being created. Students will also create their own art each week.

COST: $150.00 per session

STAGE COMBAT/STAGE MOVEMENT
AGES: 12 & Up
INSTRUCTOR:Madeleine WhiteSaturday 11:45 – 1:15 Fall Session
 This class will cover the basics of stage combat. Sept. 15 – Nov. 10Winter Session – This class will cover the basics of stage movement. Jan. 12 – Mar. 9These courses will be beneficial for any student who wishes to continue performing in theatre. Students may enroll in one or both of the sessions.
